Hi guys..

Found this forum by chance while googling for informations on FD2R a few months back. Been watching this since i first joined. Other forums I am active in is ctr.sg (a forum dedicated for CTRs in Singapore and of course is open to the whole world).

I am currently driving a '07 Vivid Blue Pear CTR, R-03550.. currently, I have the the following mods on my car:

1. GruppeM Ram Air System,
2. Toda Exhaust System,
3. Toda Exhaust Manifold with test-pipe,
4. MR Racing ECU.

My next upgrade will be a full Mugen kit for my CTR.

And here's some pics of my car:

Hi,
Had it on the dyno yet? Wondering what kind of gains you`ve made.

Don have a reliable dyno machine here.. so, i posted the next best thing (Dyno result of FD2R with the same mods, only difference would be the RON rating for each individual country.

Dyno result from Japan..

Using GruppeM, when VTEC kicks in.. the sound is louder than stock. Also, when you accelerate.. you can hear the sucking sound from the engine compartment (similar to open-pod intake)

Re: Newbie from Brunei..

HMmmmmmmmm........Im having problems seeing where the vtec kicks in on that dyno graph :-D :-D

Some information on the ECU, I am using.

"MR" FD2R Sports ECU!!! tuned from Japan.

- For Race Use ECU, Plug and Play!

- Improved power and torque throughout the full power band.

- Lowers VTEC point to 5500rpm.

- Rpm Cut off @ 9200rpm (Valve Springs upgrade recommended for revving past 8400rpm)

- Very Smooth transition into VTEC zone.

- Removes factory speed cut and allows speedo to display above 180kph.

- Lowers Oil Temp and Water Temp.

- No Trade in required. Keep your stock ECU.

- Will not cause any engine check light.

** This ECU Require aftermarket I/H/E Upgrades. (Must be less restrictive than stock!)
(This ECU is tuned based on GruppeM Ram intake/Toda Race Header/Toda Exhaust)

** No immobilizer function.

RudeBoy1971: I hope the information answers your question. FYI, the ECU makes the car more willing to accelerate in the lower and mid range of the RPM. Top end, there is some loss, probably due the lower RON rating (RON 97) we have here in Brunei. Currently, I am experimenting with octane booster (Nulon Pro Boost) to increase the RON rating.. Hopefully, this will help improve the top end even more.

Re: Newbie from Brunei..

I think this is the best combo at the moment to make good power gains on the FD2.

Until the Hondata K Pro becomes available.
Toda & Gruppe M always make good power on all products they sell.

Nice car august77! 8)

Thanks bro... So, how's ur project doing? Have you ordered the MR ECU from Maximus Racing?

as for Hondata, they will be coming out with a K-pro version.. but it is not called K-Pro this time. Heard that it will be coming out soon.. and I'll be keeping my eye on it too!! :-D

Re: Newbie from Brunei..

Hi mate,

Project was going good and i was about to order the MR ecu from Maximus but then i was made redundant from work. So i had to put the car up for sale unfortunately. :(

Hopefully i will be back in one in the future.
It's good to hear Hondata are not far off with the programable ecu, should open up lots of tuning options with that. 8)

sorry - my sense of humour - I was cracking a joke at the fact that the dyno graph makes it plainly obvious where the vtec kicks in :-D

What I did notice was the power curve is not very linear up to when the VTEC kicks in which is probably true of all FD2s and not just yours.

welcome mate :-D , nice car its only a shame its the slowest colour

It's not a slow colour :-D ... In fact, there has been a lots of demand for the Blue FD2R in Singapore.

On my side (Brunei), people loves this coulour.. too bad Honda had already stop production for it, coz they are coming out with new colours for the Fd2R (Black included)
