Hi there. Can anyone tell me what the main differences are between pre facelift and facelift fd2. Also is there a "c-pack" edition or anything like that for the Fd2 ?

I note some 08 FD2's have heated folding mirrors.. Also anyone looking to sell shortly ? CW is my preference. In have my eye on one but always good to have options.

Thanks

Folding mirrors only came on the facelift - unlike the DC5 there's no optional spec on the pre-facelift to get them.

Facelifts also came with different rear lights and came in black and purple (blue's only available as pre).

Thanks mate. I recognise your user name, ex teg owner ?

How are you finding the Fd2 ? Compared with your teg.

I know of a lovely vivid blue one for sale lol

No C pack on the FD2 but you will notice certain cars have items specced that others don't. Steering wheels controls for audio/nav are rare.

There's one for sale on here that has what looks to be indicators in the mirrors. I guess this is a facelift thing ?

That car is a prefacelift.

Quote below ref the mirrors

Ref the door mirrors I've fitted the ones from the civic hybrid, fit straight on just need painting and wiring in, new switch also required for the door, they are now heated, electric folding, eletric adjustable and also have repeater indicators built in. A very worthwhile mod. You just need a good sparky to wire them in.

Yeah I used to be on the DC5 forum - had one for 5 years and loved it to bits :-D
I recognise your tag too, I think you were running black Team Dynamics at some point?!

To me, the FD2 drives like a mapped DC5 with stiffer suspension. Induction noise is strangely loud on the FD2, even with the OEM airbox you can hear the changeover so god knows what it's like with an open cone. I had Spoon progressives on my old Teg and I always thought I didn't mind stiff suspension but the FD2 was on another level - I remember joining the motorway the day I picked it up and it was literally knocking the wind out of me! It's also very jiggly on roads that a standard DC5 would skip over. It's not the end of the world though as fitting Koni rear dampers lets you soften up the rear whilst keeping most of the handling.

The Teg wins it with the driving position: it's much lower and the seats are much more hugging. The materials in the FD2 also feel cheap compared to the Teg (especially the push button starter). However the instrument cluster is much easier to work with in the FD2, besides being more modern, the shift-lights really help reduce eye-movement.

Practicality-wise it's obviously got the advantage of the rear doors but the rear seats don't fold down so the Teg wins on longer stuff. Loads of space in the rear though and the boot easily swallowed our stuff for a weekend away.
