I've ordered one so will have a play next week when it arrives. Apparently they had sold 9 to other FD2 owners at the time of ordering mine.

So does this mean a Surrey "Lets watch Simon mess with his car" meet :-D

I like your style - what you really meant was 'Lets watch Simon feck up his car'.. :frogwink: :-D

its released.. just gotta wait for it to turn up.

been playing with the flashpromanager software (download from Hondata's website). The pic below shows the calibrations available for our cars out of the box..

They all look to be for the NA Si, bar a couple?
I watched the Hondata youtube clips and it made my head hurt 💫 I'd end up tuning my car to be Hybrid-esque

Yeah im the same wouldnt have a clue what to use as never had any dealings with Kpro on any of my previous type r
So can you keep us informed which you find is the best to use.

Passing on friends' experience on EP3 with Kpro's they swear that is better to have the kpro/flashpro mapped exactly to your car from zero, but from an experienced person

My experience is that the dyno tuning is only half the story. Usually this mapping is only done for wide open throttle / max power. 90% of the time you are at part throttle and road tuning is needed. It's not that difficult if you re-watch the Hondata videos and think about what you are doing. The software practically tells you what to do to perfect your A/F ratio. I got everything spot-on in the end with my DC5.

I'm really happy with the stock power at the moment. The FD2 feels like it's already had a remap compared to the DC5 I came from. This probably largely down to the better matching of he gear ratios with the engines torque.

I'm sure I'll FlashPro at some point. I want two-piece front disks first though.

You are more than right!

I paid TDI noth extra to map my car from zero rather than use a base map, I was running Toda cams too, it was so worth it...

well I'll have to wait another day now as the Mrs was out when they tried delivery and the friggin Post Office, who has my flashpro, is well and firmly shut until Sat. morning. Cow.

found this on another forum,
Below are a couple of dyno charts showing the results of tuning four different setups using Hondata’s Flashpro system for the FN2.

All testing was carried out on the same car in the same controlled conditions so all gains in hp and torque are relative, these should not be compared to other cars on other dyno’s as this is not relative.

The first setup is a good quality catback and air intake with no tuning at all.

The second is a good quality catback and air intake with Flashpro tuning.

The third is a good quality catback, air intake and CPL Racing Exhaust Manifold with Flashpro tuning.

The fourth is a good quality catback, air intake, CPL Racing Exhaust Manifold, RRC Intake with Hondata heatshield gasket and Flashpro tuning.

Most of the gain is with the race header as far as I can tell (and expected). I'd like to see what a FlashPro tune of a stock FD2 with a decat pipe + K&N drop-in would show.

Has anyone fitted the flashpro yet and can give some feedback
Artech tuning has mine in stock already, just waiting for my spoon throttle body to turn up then will be getting the car remapped with everything.

Let us know how it goes when you have finished. Maybe post a dyno graph.
How much did it cost the flashpro?

Was goinkg to let you know in the next few days but going to be some time next week now, because i just got off the phone with the guy where I ordered the throttle body and he told me that spoon had sent the wrong 1 its for the DC5 instead of it being for an FD2 like COME ON!!! Wouldn’t think spoon would get an FD2 muddled up with a DC5, think the guy ordered the wrong 1 more like, so going to have to wait for 4-5 days so spoon can send me the correct throttle body.

I paid £600 for my flaspro and getting free mapping, i think CPL racing selling them for roughly the same price.

CPl charges around £540, but I am not sure if they charge the mapping.

I can see you have the Dixcel brake set up. Is it the 25mm? Are you satisfied with it (i.e. trackdays, normal use)?

Yea I think everyone charges for the mapping. The price is only for the flashpro, only reason why I’m getting the mapping done for free is the guy at Artech ( Romain ) has never mapped a car with the flashpro before so I’m kind of a guinea pig, but I trust him fully with his background in tuning-mapping Honda’s.

Brakes are 25mm and yes they are very good and even better when they are warmed up and virtually no fade even from constant harsh braking, only thing I can fault them is having white alloys, there’s more brake dust then stock pads and discs but something has got to give I guess cant have everything.

If anyone is going to have a set of these brakes, bed them in like any other brake pads and disc don’t listen to anything else like braking harsh from new or you will get juddering when braking!

More info can be found here to run in discs properly http://www.dixcel.co.jp/en/chishiki_4.html#lit_13

I know that Artech has mapped Dixon's K20A, so they must know a thing or two....
The dixcel brake set is definetely in my future plans, along with the flashpro. Artech will map the car on the road (fine tuning) or just on the dyno?

Romain at Artech remapped John's modified FD2 using the flashpro over a week ago on a rolling road near Pirbright - at the time it was the first time Romain had seen the flashpro and was saying it worked very similar to the kpro software. IIRC he couldn't get a major improvement from the car using the hondata reflash calibration as a base to improve on - mostly due to the really hot weather at the time.

I've been playing about doing some data logging and enabling the supplied FD2 reflash and more data logging and will change a few things to make the map smoother. I'm about to start modding the car (custom manifold etc) so have stopped any active 'tuning' as such until I've finished this.
